Quick thought on rewatching House M.D. 5X05 "Lucky Thirteen"

House is jealous because he thinks that Wilson is dating (and, okay, financially supporting) a prostitute. And he's jealous because Cuddy is buying baby furniture after successfully applying to be a candidate adoptive parent.

That's right. Emotionally, he's Wilson's boyfriend but Cuddy's child. And this only becomes clearer in this and subsequent seasons.

Yeah, I've always looked at it that way, that emotionally he's much more dependent on Wilson. Even after they broke up, House didn't stalk Cuddy the way he stalks Wilson. Remember the ep from Season 6 where House is determined to find out why Wilson is eating healthy?

Well, I'm sure that some would say that House responded to the break-up with a week of drugs, booze, and hookers precisely because he had been more emotionally dependent on her.

But I'm with you. And
