Things that I liked a lot:
Cuddy beating House at his own game when he tries to weasel out of dinner
House realizing that dinner with her mother is something that Cuddy actually needs from him - and manning up
Wilson's faces while Cuddy's mom is disparaging her parenting skills etc.
Wilson's realization that he is about to join Cuddy's mom in dreamland
House dimpling while he and Cuddy are doing the dishes together
"Well, my chances of sex are considerably lower with Wilson."
(Don't be so sure! He's alone and vulnerable right now. It's the perfect time for you to make a move.)

Taub finally asking his wife for a divorce when he realizes that he's only going to keep disappointing her
House giving Cuddy an extra vial of sedatives with a ribbon wrapped around it in case her mother returns
House finally getting some alone-time in t-shirt and pajama pants, enjoying his Scotch while someone else's family bickers in the background

You know, I have to say that this was the first episode this season in which I didn't mind seeing House and Cuddy together. It was like old times - they seemed to be having fun together, trying to trick each other (hilarious) but then uniting against a common enemy, enjoying each other's company instead of making it look like they were just using each other for sex...

Which means, of course, that they are definitely going to be broken up before too much longer.

Well, if you saw the promo for the upcoming Very Special Episode with horror movie lighting and stern faces, I don't think it's going to last much longer.

Or maybe it will. In which case I will be pissed.

I think it's definitely going to last through the next several episodes. And I could be wrong - hope I am, in fact - but I think that House is going to save Cuddy's mom in the next episode, and that Masters is going to learn an Important Life Lesson.

NOOOOOOOO!

But you're probably right. All they needed was that belting out chorale music movie studios use for their action trailers (it's out of copyright).

Can the Important Life Lesson Masters learns is that she's an overgrown cupie doll and needs to get a life instead of moralizing or tattle-taling on others?

Can she just walk off the edge of the universe and disappear? Please? Pretty please?

THIS. I think.

It's possible that Cuddy's mom could die and Cuddy blames House so House feels pressured to marry Cuddy to try to fix things, but not likely. I wish I understood what was meant by when you think about House and Cuddy's relationship think 'Gone with the Wind'.

We'll find out, but my money is still on Rachel getting killed in an accident that puts Cuddy in the hospital, and Cuddy being so devastated that she leaves House and PPTH. I think that the recent bonding with Rachel and Mama Cuddy, the gradual incorporation of House into Lisa's loving albeit screwed-up family, is just setting him up for major loss and angst.

Have you seen or read anything specific that makes you think so? Just curious.

I've heard about the photo of Cuddy in hospital garb in episode 15, and definite spoilers of a wedding (probably in 13). The rest is just my speculation, but I feel like at this point I have a decent handle on how the show's writers think... we'll see!

Yeah...I guess. I'm so disenchanted with the show these days I'm almost afraid to see just how nauseating the next episode will be.

Also, do you think House will be responsible for the accident and that's why Cuddy leaves him rather than sticks with him for the support? Also, what do you think is going to happen with Wilson, and with his relationship with House?

I honestly am speculating about the accident, but I think that yes, Cuddy might hold House responsible for Rachel's death for some reason.

As far as Wilson, truthfully it will depend on RSL's contract negotiations for next season, but given the pattern we've seen so far, I would predict that after Cuddy leaves, Wilson will become a more central part of House's life again.

I could sort of see that because if there is one thing this show hates more than anything else it is mothers and /or babies. After the last mother died my son and I counted them and I think we had 6 or 7 dead babies and/or mothers. More than any other group of dead patients.

House realizing that dinner with her mother is something that Cuddy actually needs from him - and manning up

One interesting facet of House's personality is that he will do things for people if they need something, but not just if they want something. He has to decide that they really NEED that from him before he does it.

No one should ever have sex on this show, period. It only leads to exotic bloodborne diseases, swallowing toothpicks, and dead moms and/or babies.

Yeah, but when Wilson needed a shoulder to 'cry' on after Sam left him, House was not willing to even talk with him because he was more concerned about getting laid than the well-being of the man who is supposedly his best friend. And House has been doing a load of crap for Cuddy because she wants him too, not because she needs him too. And what, pray tell has she sacrificed or done for House (besides the sex) in return?

LOL. I hope that Cuddy doesn't consider sex with House to be a sacrifice. If so, she really is in the wrong relationship.

He does this for himself because he thinks it is what he wants (and as as you mentioned, for sex).

Cuddy gave up Lucas and the dream of a "normal" life that apparently her family has been trying to push her towards. I wonder if while her father was alive, he helped moderate that push from her mother. Perhaps he was more supportive of Cuddy's choices.

Yeah, but when Wilson needed a shoulder to 'cry' on after Sam left him, House was not willing to even talk with him because he was more concerned about getting laid than the well-being of the man who is supposedly his best friend.

House has never been a great friend to Wilson. I think that is a fanfiction myth. But he does step in at the last moment to do the right thing. Unfortunately he lets it get to the last moment with Wilson, then he suddenly realizes that Wilson needs him (and not just wants something from him) and he does what he needs to. I hope that happens again because if it did, I would finally give this show some continuity props.

Totally second your list. Also agree on the House-Cuddy interaction and on your assessment about the break-up. Monday's episode only serves to confirm what you wrote.
