Want to collaborate on a hiatus House/Wilson fic?

We have a House hiatus coming up, and I was wondering whether any/all of you would be interested in collaborating on a long House/Wilson fic. I am shamelessly stealing this idea from the folks over at house_cuddy because I have done the multiauthor Great American Novel thing before, and it was tons of fun, but I have little interest in reading an extended House/Cuddy unless it's written entirely by stenveny , plus I think it would be awesome to collaborate with friends whose fic I like.

Anyway, the idea is that we would take turns writing sections (of maybe 1000 words apiece?), each author starting where the previous one left off, and adding her own personal stamp to the story. In my experience, this is especially fun if you end on a cliff-hanger, maybe even mid-sentence, but there's also the possibility of making it more structured - one idea I had was to do "The Twelve Days of Christmas" and think up a different House-appropriate gift for each chapter. Could be slash, could be romance, could be friendship, could be crack - it would be up to us!

We could either decide on an author order ahead of time or have volunteers step in by commenting as we go. I figure that at least one of us (I'm willing to volunteer) could keep an updated f-locked page with links to all contributions, and at the end we could have the option to polish it a bit if desired and post to house_wilson and/or greglovesjimmy as a holiday gift.

So glad to hear it! I think our diverse styles combined with our mutual love of House and Wilson would make for a hilarious hybrid fic!

I can't tell you how excited I am about this already. This kinda idea has been on my mind since I started writing 'Scene It' - thinking it would be fun to have a fest where people take a favourite movie scene and re-write it, H/W style.

But a collaborative hybrid fic - that would even more fun! Great idea!!

Awesome! I was thinking that we would start at the end of this month, after the airing of 7X08, which would give us a lot of freedom to fantasize/speculate wildly/retcon re: the current direction of the show and/or write a holiday fic. So my invitation may have been jumping the gun just a little, but when I saw the house_cuddy announcement, I was so jazzed that I wanted to mention it right away.
