House is jealous because he thinks that Wilson is dating (and, okay, financially supporting) a prostitute. And he's jealous because Cuddy is buying baby furniture after successfully applying to be a candidate adoptive parent.
That's right. Emotionally, he's Wilson's boyfriend but Cuddy's child. And this only becomes clearer in this and subsequent seasons.

Wilson is his best match in the way that he completes him. They are complementary personalities, filling in for eachother where the other lacks and usually bringing the best parts forward. The sexual component could be there, but it doesn't have to be, and they still fit that way.
ITA. They're a couple, with or without a sexual component.
