This is mostly for [livejournal.com profile] jezziejay , but as long as I'm typing it up, might as well post it here.

I'm going to skip right over the Patient of the Week - a fellow who's been reenacting the Crucifixion as part of a bargain he made with God to save his daughter from supposedly incurable brain cancer. Suffice it to say that it's House vs. God yet again, House lying to the patient to get him to accept an embryonic stem cell treatment, and House lying to Masters to make sure said patient is none the wiser until his life has been saved.

Really enjoyed the rest of it except for a few quibbles (like who invites anyone other than members of the wedding party to the rehearsal dinner, writers??). FINALLY we get to see some good House and Wilson, including both of them in tuxes and a little role reversal, some subtle, some not so much. Cuddy is still demanding an apology for his lie two episodes ago; House insists that he did the right thing in order to save his patient, but in the end he realizes that there's no point in arguing about it anymore, so he delivers an obviously fake little apologetic speech and she buys it. (This is after we supposedly establish once and for all that Cuddy is currently 43 but pretended to be older when she applied for her position at PPTH, and that she knows the divorce laws in Jersey so well because she was married for six days in 1987.) Meanwhile, Taub's wife Rachel has made a friend through an online support group for people with cheating spouses and refuses to stop communicating with him even after Taub finds out and asks her to give up her emotional affair. And Chase betrays Foreman by offering to be his wingman and then walking out with both women.

Oh yes, and Wilson and Sam implode without much warning. How thrilled was I when he knelt in front of her chair at the wedding to propose? (Also, the first scene in which House lay in wait for him at his office and effortlessly dismissed all of his explanations for his tardiness until he confessed to buying the ring? Priceless.) Unfortunately, Wilson (and House) had looked through her files in preparation for a work review and deduced that she had given inappropriate doses of radiation to some of her terminal patients, and Wilson assumed that she had done it deliberately in a last-ditch effort to save them. So when she asks what brought on this sudden urge to retie the knot, he explains that he loves and admires her even more for doing what she did... except that she denies doing it and decides to leave him because he doesn't believe her. It's still not completely clear to me whether she was a) testing him or b) clueless and incompetent, but as Wilson put it, she's calling it quits - again.

The following evening, Wilson turns up at House's apartment hoping for drinks and sympathy but is informed that Cuddy is coming over. "Does she know that you're here?" (FTW!) Yes, she knows, but now that House has taken Wilson's advice and apologized insincerely, he can stop choking his chicken. Wilson doesn't seem too devastated by being booted out for House's booty call. I am, though.
