Post-episode fic has always been my specialty, in this fandom but also several others - I have written original stories on occasion, but for the most part, I'm inspired by particular canonical events and really enjoy developing them further, going behind the scenes, speculating on hidden relationships that would help make sense of it all, etc. Obviously a lot more research is involved for longer fics like this one, but the result is very satisfying.
And so glad that you're enjoying my characterizations :). Villa is interesting to write - my perception of him in real life is quite different from the bitchy fanfic version I generally see in others' work (which may be based on his less mature younger self?), so I sometimes struggle a bit to find the right balance. And poor Ramos, I actually like him quite a bit, but he does tend to get mocked a lot when I'm writing from Xavi's POV!
